Sunday, January 16 Sunday, January 2, 2005
Parishioners gathered on Sunday, September 15, 2002 to enjoy each others' company as they tasted foods from around the world. Even the threat of rain didn't dampen anyone's spirit!

To all who joined me and my family on June 2,
to those who sent cards, and mass cards, baked
desserts for the picnic, to the Community Life
Committee who organized the celebration, to our
fabulous adult choir and the talented wind
ensemble, I cannot truly express what your
thoughtfulness meant to me at this important
time in my life. I thank God, that he allowed
me to be here with you at St. James to
celebrate this important anniversary. You made
a joyful occasion even more so.
And to all those who so generously contributed
to the Missionary Society of Saint James in
my name, once I am notified by the society it
is my hope to acknowledge individually your
thoughtfulness. Please pray for me as I
continue to humbly answer Christ's call
as his Priest.

On March 24, 2002 Michelle Lastrina (Pictured at left with her parents
Tom & Arlene Lastrina) was awarded a $500 College Scholarship by members
of the Community Life Committee. The Scholarship was presented during
the annual Seder Supper meal, which was hosted by Community Life members
and was held in the Parish Center. Also in attendance were the second year
Confirmation students. The Community Life Committee was thrilled to be
able to provide this year's scholarship. It is because of your support of
their various functions that they were able to provide this scholarship.
Your continued support will help them carry on this new tradition for
years to come.
Pictured above are the women of St. James enjoying their annual weekend retreat at Out Lady of Calvary Retreat House in Farmington, CT this spring. ![]() Ministry Fair was held last September. These are volunteers from various ministries who manned the tables at the fair. Represented at the fair were some of the following ministries; Respect Life, Music Ministry, Sewing Guild, Helpful Hands, Youth Group, Young Adult Ministry, Small Christian Communities, Knights of Columbus, RCIA, Social Concerns Committee, Precious Blood Prayer Group, the Parish Council and Community Life. Visit our ministries page for more information concerning each ministry. A potluck picnic was held last summer for soup kitchen volunteers. With the help from these and other volunteers, the residents of the Immaculate Conception Shelter received hot meals during the cold winter months. |
